vauxhall vectra 2.2 dti losing speed.dashboard has picture of car with a sp?

hi my zafira dti on a x plate is stuck in limp mode. checked exhaust. egr. but the weired thing is that evo tho the light is perminantly on there aint no fault codes. the light can be reset but as soon as i turn ignition on the light stays on and dont go out. so would that mean there is a sensor down cos vacum doesnt work with engine off so must be something electronic. help please

hope this helps you i have now found the problem with my 2.2 vectra which sounds the same as yours. on the inlet manifold there is a small sensor to the right of the egr valve i removed and cleaned it with a degreaser and tooth brush the sensor was smothered in gunk and soot refitted the sensor and the car is running perfect. good luck
