mccullock strimmer model no tm250 renewing fuel lines?

can any one tell me which of the 2 fuel lines from the 2 carb connections goes to which 2 holes in plastic fuel tank

On my Trimmac 210, the straight pipe goes to the top hole, and isn't connectedto anything inside the tank (it's a fuel return line) and the bent pipe goes to the bottom hole, connecting to the fuel filter.
