My Sony Ericsson K660i got wet, and now the screen won't work?

My phone was chewed by my 9 month old and dribble got through the handset and damaged the phone. When you switch the phone on you get the Sony start up screen, then it goes black. I can hear the phone is working when I press buttons, but the screen remains black. I did send the phone back as it is under warranty but as the damage was due to moisture they are unable or unwilling to fix it.

Can anyone help, would a replacement screen be an option in this case. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

this technnique was used on the gadget show.
fill a container full of rice.
fill it to the top of the container.put your k660i on top of the rice.take the battery and the sim card out before you put it on top of the rice. make sure the screen s facing upwards. now leave the container in a warm place and after 48 hrs - 1 week look at your phone again. the dampness should have gone out of the phone, and it should work

mine did the same thing, i think it was the steam in the bathroom, i am so gutted, it shows the sony ericsson thing when i turn it on but thats it, i thought it was a software issue but i have installed the new one and it still dont work, i hope someone will find a solution!!!! please!!!!!! lol help

The simplest and may be the most amazing way is to put your phone into a bucket of dry rice for at least 24 hours.
I know this must be ridiculous to you but the fact is that rice will absorb the moisture and will make the inside of the phone completely dry.
(I learned it in my chemistry lessons and I also tried it and it worked perfectly, pal!!!)

I have exactly the same problem, and not been able to resolve yet. I've never got my phone wet, however three network engineer says it may have been damaged due to moisture or condesation in air. I've only had the phone for just over a month so had a long chat with three customer rep, still they refuse to listen to any reason. This is a faulty phone, and they refuse to admit. I've seen exactly the same phone, with same condition on ebay.
