how do i deactivate ultrasonic volumetric sensor in my renault grand scenic?

RENAULT GRAND SCENIC 2005 7 SEATER .. HOW DO I DEACTIVATE THE INTERNAL ALARM SENSOR?? the instruction book has a series of pictures/diagrams which i can understand some of .. put card in slot . press start/stop button 5 times (but then there is a bit that goes < 7 " with a small circle with a tiny black '5 minute clock wedge' in it and a 0 over it which id don't understand) . shut door (i assume you remove card) . then press lock . the car should flash twice and beep four times .. this doesn't happen so something is going wrong for me .. the last diagram after the beep and flashing lights one shows the alarm horn with a cross through it and another small circle like a small clock showing 12 o clock - just a line going up from the centre - with an 0 over it and next to it is > 60 " .. WHAT IS THIS??! am i just an idiot? .. i need to deactivate this sensor because every time i leave my dogs in the car when i lock it and nip in a shop they set the alarm off!

Open drivers door. Lock doors using lock button inside cab. Get out shut drivers door lock drivers door with key.
All doors will be locked but sensors will not be activated.

Actually it's not quite as complex as all that.
Simply stop the engine and remove the card from the slot.
Then put the card back in the slot twice, get out and lock the car with the card lock button within 10 seconds. Three high-pitched beeps indicate success.
Works for me.

thanks - I had the same problem yesterday (dog in car and did not know how to disable alarm!) Could not find the manual for it (have since!) but as you say, it is not easy to follow anyway. I have printed off your much clearer instructions for future reference!

although it may void your insurance, i found the best and easiest way is to cover your sensors (usualy located in back high in boot section) with blu tac, never had problem with alarm going off for no reason again, I am led to believe your tamper alarm is unaffected ie:anyone trying break into doors/bonnet/boot.

REF TO PAUL HANSONS QUESTION .. NO .. WHEN YOU UNLOCK THE CAR TO GET BACK IN AND THEN LOCK IT AGAIN WHENEVER, IT RESETS TO THE NORMAL MODE .. YOU HAVE TO DO THE PROCESS I DESCRIBED EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO DEACTIVATE THE SENSORS FOR THAT TIME YOU WANT THE CAR LOCKED WITH SENSORS DEACTIVATED

i originally posted this question but have since found out the answer so will post it in case it helps anyone else .. i went to the renault garage and they told me .. it is far simpler than in the book and nothing like as described in the book ..

1. turn the engine off, take key card out and make sure driver door is open

2. insert key card and press start/stop button

3. take key card out and press start/stop button

4. insert key card and press start/stop button

5. take key card out and press start/stop button

6. get out of car, shut door and press lock button

alarm should quietly beep 3 times, but you don't always hear this depending on surrounding noises

steps 2 to 5 should be completed within 10 seconds

sounds more complicated than what it is!!

now the dogs can jump aound in the car to their hearts content while the car is still alarmed

NOTE .. DON'T LEAVE DOGS SHUT UP IN CARS ON HOT OR EVEN WARM DAYS FOR LONG AT ALL .. IT CAN KILL THEM
