how can i upgrade speed on my bush dvhrs02 to use 16x blanks?

i have abush dvhrs02 vcr/dvd recorder it recorded ok on 4x blank dvds, but it does not recored 16x dvds how can i upgrade the speed on recorder to take these new discs as i am finding it difficult to obtain 4x +r blanks

You can't but the 'faster' blanks ought to work. Check that you are buying the correct type i.e. +R If you are then your box has a problem.
