Nokia 5300 LCD screen Showing A Plain White Screen?

My Nokia 5300 lcd screen lights up but that's it, I Cant see anything at all. took off the screen put it back on still nothing. the funny thing is everything looks intacted; no cracks, dents or streaks going across the screen, it looks perfect but all I get is a perfect looking white screen. Dont want to waste money to buy a screen if it is not needed. Is it the screen or not

i got the same problem... tch! i don't want to waste money anymore (T-T)
i already brought it to a repair shop and yes! he says that the ribbon was the problem, then he fixed it and after so many accidental drops it went white again and sometimes half screen.. so now i'm just using it for mp3 alone. XD

Hi,
I had the same problem with a Nokia 5300 xpress music.

I was able to fix this by removing the back cover, unscrewing the 2 T6 screws to allow removal of the back and I then saw that the flat terminating end of the ribbon cable was disconnected; I just pushed it back into its socket and now the screen works.
I think the problem would have been caused by the phone being dropped and this allowed the slight displacement of the ribbon cable from its very shallow socket.

yes... it is the problem of the strip inside. it works perfect if it is replaced.

i broke my original screen and ordered a new one when it came the screen looked like yours thought it was i defected screen sent it back and got a new one but it still showes a white screen don think that its the screen souldn waste ur money lke i did bro

yeh tat happens to my nokia 5300 as well and 3 of my friends have that phone and that happens to them i think its a fault in the phone its a very unreliable phone.

It could be the ribbon that connects the LCD to the phones PCB, trying taking it to a local phone shop and getting them to replace the ribbon for you and see if that works.

It could be the ribbon that connects the LCD to the phones PCB, trying taking it to a local phone shop and getting them to replace the ribbon for you and see if that works, however the screens on these cheap phones usually do end up costing nearly as much as the phone itself.
