can i repair a dvd thats cracked??

I have the same problem with a cracked disc and I have tried these solutions and neither of them have worked is there any thing else you can suggest as I am getting desperate and the seller I purchased it from failed to respond to my emails.

you can try glueing or taping the DVD all over the crack,
but theres a better way of fixing it by going to the nearest DVD store give it to the service department and tell them to fix it ASAP.
