Thanks for this info - it resolved my problem after days of trying reset, power on, charging, reset, power on for 10 seconds while charging, etc.
I was not aware that the reset should be held for some time!
I've had a GO 700 since 2005 and over that time I've upgraded the firmware, software, maps and flash screens, but this week couldn't power on, and after 3 days I was seriously contemplating a GO 740 Live as a replacement.
There is still life in the GO 700 yet, and it's streets ahead (!) of the factory installed Navteq SatNav in my Jaguar, so I shall continue using it and upgrading the maps and software until it bites the dust :-)
