blue smoke from deisel engine when started?

but remember you are burning oil (diesel ) to start with,some makes if a glow plug goes down then you get smoke on start up,as it does not get burned correctly,get them checked first,also leaking injectors.

blue smoke is indeed oil being burnt,but normally leaking past the valve stem or stem seals causes blue smoke.
generally if it,s oil getting past a ring it,s normally white smoke,and normally very bad and all the time not just when you start the car.
