The answer posted in May of 2008 is correct, except that the image of the paper guide is missing from the posting. You can find the image on the Lexmark website. I'd like to add that the paper guide can easily get bent even when it's firmly in place. And this will also cause the error to appear.

If it's bent by even a few millimeters, it won't fall back into the correct position after a page is printed. So you can find yourself in a situation where the printer will print one page, the error will appear, you'll jiggle the paper guide and it will print another page, but then the error will appear again, repeat cycle..etc...

To fix this, very carefully bend the guide back into the right shape. You can do this even when it's already situated inside its holders. The lever portion of the guide should be parallel to the plastic frame above it, in either the up or down position. If the guide is even slightly bent so that one side is pointed a little downward or upward, that will be enough to trigger the error. Bend it so that it's parallel, and this should allow the guide to move normally again when a page comes out. You'll know that it's working correctly when it tilts up as a page comes out and then goes right back down afterwards. If it gets stuck in the up position, then it's probably still too bent or it's not correctly positioned inside its holder.

The guide is a fragile piece of plastic so bend it very carefully!

"Remove Paper - Standard Bin" or a "Std Bin Full error"

Possible causes of the error:
• The paper exit bin located on the top of the printer is full of paper. This error is usually triggered when 250 or so pages are sitting in the exit bin.
• The paper exit flag/guide on the top right-hand side is stuck or is loose. This will cause the printer to think the paper exit bin is full.
Remove all paper from the output bin
The first step is to remove all paper from the top exit bin area of the printer. The error should clear on its own and you will be able to continue using the printer.
If there is no paper in the exit bin, or if removing the paper does not clear the error, the top right-hand side paper exit flag/guide may need attention.

Check the right-hand side paper exit guide
The right-hand side paper exit guide controls the sensor that tells the printer when the top exit bin is full. If something goes wrong with this guide, the printer will stop working and post a "Standard Bin Full" type error.
The location of the top right-hand side paper exit flag/guide is highlighted in the image below. Check to see if this guide is stuck, hanging loose, damaged, or missing from the printer.

If the guide has popped out of one of its holders, it can get stuck in the raised position or hang loose, causing the printer to think that the exit area is full of paper. In this case, you can attempt to snap the guide back into place.
If the guide has separated completely from the printer or is broken, the printer will require service to correct the issue.
