Dropped door handle on double glazed patio door?

The handle on my double glazed patio door will not return to the upright position on closing the door but simply hangs loose and has to be returned to the upright position manually, the name on the mechanism is ERA if this is of any help. The door has a five point locking mechanism. I dont know how these mechnisms operate so any advice would be very much appreciated.

If the locking mechanism is still working, and the handle behaves apart from not springing back, it sounds like the handle return spring (!) is broken. Take the handle off and see if you can see what I mean. It could be a good move to take the other (working) handle off to have a look at that one....ERA is the make of the lock, and B&Q have some replacement parts.
