Well done Phil your method is simple and only takes a few minutes. It is advisable to support the drum when taking the 3 screws out as it will swing down and could damage the heating elements on the front of the drum. I used a piece of 2 x 1 with strong string wrapped round it and around the drum. This is a simple DIY job.

I found the other way described a bit too tricky so tried the following and it seems to have worked - Remove the fluff filter inside the drum and underneath you will see 3 fixing screws holding the rear drum bush/mounting plate in place. Remove these screws and you can remove the mounting plate which allows you to slip the belt over the drum. Refit the mounting plate and screws and ensure the drum spins freely.
Remove the rear bottom panel half (screws around the outside). This will give you access to the motor. The belt now has to be passed around the motor spindle (ribbed side facing inwards resting on the grooved spindle).
Move the right tensioning pulley first, to the right, and ease the belt over the spindle, then move the left pulley.
The 2 pulleys should pinch the belt removing any slack from it. Revolve the drum by hand to make sure it works.
Secure all the panels, renewing the top cover sponge seal (draught excluder strip).
The box has to be reasonably air tight otherwise the element will overheat.

Hello. Be prepared to spend a while doing this!
First take the top off by removing the 2 screws at the top rear of the machine. Pull the timing control knob off.
Remove the 2 screws that are behind the knob holding the fascia on.
Prise the fascia off (this will mean breaking the plastic pins that are pushed through and held by metal clips).
Undo the 8 screws that hold the control fascia on (4 top, 4 front).
Ease the front panel forward sufficient to disengage the drum flange from its seat. Find another person to manipulate the belt over the drum. You will need to move the drum backwards & forwards/side to side in order to do this.
Once the belt is over the drum screw the front panel back on.
Make sure the drum rotates freely before going any further.
