I have a Citroen C5 and the handle a surround on the drivers side door have broken and I cannot open the door from the outside.
Can any one please tell me if I will be able to replace them or are they part of the door.

You have to remove the door trim and that will give you access to the handle from inside.It is held by 2 screws.Quite a simple job if you have a new handle.

The handles can be replaced. Go to Ebay and type this item number into the search box 250278651214. I think the auction has a couple of days to go. I found it as i'm looking for an interior door handle. Hope this helps
