Mk1 renault clio 1.4 idoling problems?

basically mate it sounds like you have a vacuum leak from your inlet manifold. the can be leaking pressure from your fuel injectors or simply a vacuum hose may have come loose. failing that, make sure your inlet manifold gasket isnt leaking and drawing in air.

if the car does this all the time, suspect idle speed motor or air leak. if it only happens when cold then suspect coolant temp sensor, white 2 pin switch on thermostat housing. some models can be helped by an in line amplifier that boosts the signal to the ecu from the stepper.
