Mend Washing Machine Will Not Agitate

WASHING MACHINE WILL NOT AGITATE?

MACHINE STARTED MAKING A STRANGE NOISE. NOTICED THE MACHINE WAS NO LONGER AGITATING. PULLED MACHINE BACK AND NOTICED WHAT APPEARED TO BE FINE BELT MATERIAL ON THE FLOOR. ALSO HAD A SLIGHT SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING. HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE PLATE ON THE BACK OF THE MACHINE TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK?
