disc recognition?

The most annoying thing with this machine is the finalizing failure, that more times than worth counting corrupts the info files on the dvd, I have a erase/delete recovery program that is professional and used by the police etc, not even this program can recover the dvd files from the disk, I done various recordings on a Dvd disk, I used apx 5hrs 45min and so had apx 15min left, I went to finalize and it hung, I left it overnight with out any success, next day I pulled the mains (Yeah that woke it up) I got the disk out with the eject request, I put the disk back in and it stated "blank" ok I done a 12sec test record and then pressed play, The test record worked but all the other recordings were not visable, I must state that the disk is a +R, so it can not be erased! however when I checked the time left on disk, it stated that there is 14min apx! I can not finalize because its already done! so to cap, the programs are all on the disk somewhere but the info files telling the machine what they are format wise etc are either corrupted or missing hence the machine or the pc have no clue what to to with them!
ADVICE TO BUSH Install a function that lets you MANUALLY send a final/info file to the DVD, that way people MAY stop slagging you off and perhabs write something good about this machine!

Mine is doing exactly the same. Looks like I will have to return it too. I was looking for a fix, perhaps not.

I had the same problem, with the same model. I thought it was just mine so I took it back to argos, I just got another of the same, and now its giving me another sort of problem, thats why i came on this site! I personally think its not very good at all and think I'm gonna have to return it to argos again! I tried calling the support site and THEIR advice was to return it.
Go figure!
