Spare Parts?

My tumbler dryer has been faulty for the last two weeks with a mind of it`s own. It only started every now and then so I called a repair man from the yellow pages on and he came last Monday. He changed a part in it and said as he was changing it quote `these parts have been to known to fail straight away and if it does just give me a call` and I was immediately suspicious. I handed over the £45 waved him off and then put the dryer on 30 seconds later except it didn`t work. I phoned him back and he must have been less than half a mile away but he said he couldn`t return till today. I just phoned him and after about 25 attemptts he eventually answered and his excuse was that he could not locate the part I needed. My question is how hard are the parts to locate for Hotpoint Aquarius Condenser Dryer TDC32 as I would love to give him a list of places he could have got the spare part if he ever returns.
