Mend Vauxhall Vectra 2.0L GLS Engine Cuts Out

Vauxhall vectra 2.0L GLS engine cuts out?

Driving along it's ok, but when comes to stop the engine races to just 1000 revs then drops suddenly to 500 revs and engine cuts out, but would starts straight away again. Sometimes it just cut out soon as I stop.

Please, can anyone help?

Hi Norbert, sounds like the idle control valve sticking, they get gummed up with sticky petrol deposits, needs to taken off and cleaned with "carb cleaner" don't use WD40 as it will cause it to stick again
