starting petrol strimmer problem?

I have a strimmer sovereign 26cc I drained of all the petrol new petrol in it starts it runs fine until you Accelerate and then it starts misfiring and has no power it ticks over fine and ok on quarter revs I've renewed the spark plug?

The biggest problem I've found with small carburettors is that the diaphragms in the carb. harden if the carb is left without fuel for some time.

I can start my strummer up but when throttle lever pulled there is no response . The cable does move but no response to the motor for strumming any advice please

a short squirt of brake cleaner or easy start into air filter. That will fire it up. Beats getting blisters on the fingers.

drain fuel tank of old fuel replace with new fuel correct mix can be anythink between 25 1 an 50 1check on cap should say take spark plug out clean with sand paper hope this helps

I was just looking for the same advice but I have noticed the problem on mine. The fuel line has broken just at the point where the line goes into the fuel tank meaning the rest of the line & filter are just rattling loose inside the tank.
I now just need to find parts. Maybe you have the same problem or maybe the line is half broken meaning you would draw air & have starting trouble. This may or may not help. just thought I'd mention it as thats my problem with the same strimmer.

I have a similar model and had starting problems. I tipped the fuel out and put in a fresh mix with less oil in (I had put too much in the original mix) and it started fine.
