You are clearly not alone. Losing this remote seems to be part of the experience of buying this product. Does anybody know if universal remote work?

I used to be in the OEM business and most OEM deals are confidential and so I would not expect the manufacturers of Argos's Mikomi branded products to be common knowledge.
Part of the reasoning for confidentiality was that should the End User Customer not be able to get an answer from the OEM (Argos in this case) the manufacturer would not end up supporting someone else's brand!
Based on your experience this time however I am sure that you will look carefully at after sales service provided by a brand when you next make a purchase.

Hi, I have a mikomi ds8668 and the remote control lost, so I in similar situation. Argos are no good as when I rang their aftersales dept, I was told they no longer stock that model and could not help in getting a replacement remote control.
Someone must know which company actually makes these dvd`s for argos. Any help gratefully received.
