I used to be in the OEM business and most OEM deals are confidential and so I would not expect the manufacturers of Argos's Mikomi branded products to be common knowledge.
Part of the reasoning for confidentiality was that should the End User Customer not be able to get an answer from the OEM (Argos in this case) the manufacturer would not end up supporting someone else's brand!
Based on your experience this time however I am sure that you will look carefully at after sales service provided by a brand when you next make a purchase.
