Mend Cannon Pembroke Repair Shut-off Valve

Repair Cannon gas cooker, faulty closing lid on/off auto shut-off valve?

How do I repair my Cannon Pembroke gas cooker? The valve that shuts off the gas to the grill and hob when the lid goes down was temperamental and is now permanently off. Although less than 5 years old, so qualifying for a 'free' spare part, Cannon want nearly £100 for the engineer to attend - what a con!

cleaned mine up with a degreaser then oiled it with wd40 all was fine no probs

Just had the same problem, there is a spring operating a on off switch at the rear, clean this up and tighten up everything that operates the switch...goodluck ( took me 5 mins )

You may have to unscrew the top / rear air vent to access the switch
