It is a problem in a way by the fact my ears hurt.
'er' in doors says using bleach in a toilet bowl takes the glaze off after staining appeared on the bottom of the pan.
I said thats b...y rubbish surely you've seen the adverts of 'bleach kills 99% of all know germs' and the stain is just lime build up that needs cleaning off, but no 'her majesty' still insits its bleach staining. I can't afford a divorce so some one please come back with a positive reply. I promise to tell her if she's right and I'll slink off to my workshop for a week.
Many thanks John I can now stay in as it's too b....y cold to slink off to the workshop, as I said I would if she's right, because my fire's packed up through lack of propane gas.

I reckon your problem is lime scale build up - unless someone has been cleaning the loo with an abrasive cleaner such as Ajax at some time and scratched the glaze...most bleaches don't actually remove limescale either, and an acidic solution is the way to go here.
