I have just rewired the switch as I had abreak in the cable just entering it which caused the DC04 to stop.
At the side of the push on/off botton the is a very small little box/opening. Slide something down there like a kitchen knife and this releases a small plastic tab on the button. Once this knife is in pull the button up wards and it should easily come off. Once this is off there is a screw at the side of the electronic switch. Remove this and the switch assembly is accessable.
Be careful with the plastic tab on the button. I broke mine off and now the button does not lock on. The DC04 is fixed and working better than shelling out £200.
