my ford explorer radio lock?

If the screen says LOCKED, do the following:

1. Turn the radio OFF.

2. Press and hold the '6' preset button.

3. Turn the radio ON. Continue to hold the '6' preset button until the radio prompts for the code.

WARNING: This procedure will give you 3 additional attempts. Once they are used up, the radio can no longer be unlocked by user!

Make sure you have the correct code before you do anything else. Post the serial numbers here in another question. What sometimes works with a locked radio is to disconnect the fuse or battery , reconnect then leave it switched on, without interruption, for 12 hours,to see if it has reset itself. Enter the correct code. If this does not work , then tit will have to be taken into a radio code specialist to reset it .
Post the result back on here whether this was successful or not.
