Just had to tow my wifes zafira back from the supermarket.
Apparantley the car started OK (and still will), however as she put the car into 1st there was a "clunk" and although the gear shift goes into place the car is not in drive. The gear shift will go into any of the gears including reverse but when the clutch is released it's as if the car is in neutral and it will not drive.
There is a lots of newish looking fluid under the car that i assume is related to the problem, but it's not engine oil.
It's obviously a gearbox problem but my question is "is this likely to be economicaly fatal" should i just scrap the car or have it fixed.
where is the fill cap for the gear box on a zafira 2002 16 manual 16v got a wineing noise throught every gear was gonna replace oil any advice or if you no where it goes in would be greate

nothing to do with brake clutch fluid.
If that was the problen you'd have drive but clutch wouldn't disengage.
This is like the clutch is disengaged permanently.
Any idesa anyone ???

Did you get this fixed the same thing happened to mine today. No sign of fluid but same symptoms.
Thinking the gearbox is gone, but maybe (wishing ) its not.
Thanks

sounds like your brake/clutch fliud is leaking from somewere follow your brake line from your gearbox or could be leaking fluid in side your gearbox
