Mend Put New Drive

how can i put a new drive and the chain is tight?

my back wheel was broke so a bought a new 1. so a fitted the new wheel and chain. i took it out 2 test it and the main drive spocket snapped from the engine how can a fit a new drive withou t the chain being tight
