PROGRAMME SELECTOR KNOB KEEPS TURNING?

My Ariston Margherita A1635 , The machine starts to fill with water once the programme has been set, then it stops and starts to drain away the water after about 1 minute then the Programme selector knob keeps turning, I have tried the stop/reset but it keeps repeating the same fault.

Hi,
I had the exact same problem with my Ariston washer. I found a solution that worked and it fixed my machine and saved me alot of money from service.

We had the same problem on a Margherita AL128DS three (3!) times in two years - heater element fault short-circuits something in there - expensive repair ~$400-500 - thankfully it was under extended warranty but now it just happened again and we'll go to Harvey Norman and get a new washing machine and this one goes straight out onto the verge collection - that's where these 'it's a design issue' Ariston washing machines belong... they have known about this and these pieces of [beep] should have been recalled or replaced... Ariston listen: never again.
