lost keys euro lock help needed please?

Just wondering if someone can help, I have lost the keys to my upvc back door about 3 years ago, so secured alternately, but as the door is open I'd like to replace the lock. The lock is a euro type design so I can't take old lock out without the key. I have taken the handles off and the screw that holds the lock in place out of the side of the door. I know I could attempt to drill out the centre of the barrel but as I have to replace the assembly and don't need to open the door can I just get a wrench on both sides of the protruding cylinder/housing and if gently turn in opposite directions the cylinder/housing should snap in the middle enabling the two halfs to be drawn out at either side and then a new lock can be fitted without damaging the rest of the door assembly (hopefully). Sorry but calling out locksmith is not an option financially and an old door with a lock is coming up. Thanks in advance if anybody can help cheers.

Hello,
Simply take the handles off, then with a pair of mole grips move up and down and side to side untill the lock snaps, you will then need to insert a tool with a hook on it to open the lock internally.

well it is easy
get a drill and drill the lock at the center (8mm)
then use a big flat screw driver and turn the barell while trying to open the door
turn in steps of 5 degrees
the door should open i have done 6 this week for a friend and this is my job but if you want to have a go its not hard
the lock barell at b and q for 25 pounds

Its very easy first remove the till case compound, then using a small star screwdriver remove the 4 locking breaches {BE CAREFULL NOT TO DAMAGE THE BACKING FRONT CASE} After tat remove the central locking pin which is below and to the right of the casing joint. When that is taken out the barrel surrounding housing can be removed using a half inch casing spanner. Then remove both door handles anti clockwise remembering to leave in place the spindle bracket. Thats it job done.
