horn not working,renault meagane scenic,1999-v reg?

Renault scenic 02 no horn and indicators not cancilling. Just repaired removed airbag (ignition turned off and key out) and steering wheel found broken wires going into the slipring easy repair remove and resolder take time in reassembly make sure all lines up in correct position if yo don't indicators will not cancel. :-) Andy G

I had the same problem. Horn not working and indicators not self cancelling.
After removing the steering wheel I found that the central two pronged collet, that engages with the steering wheel and drives the horn contact slipring and indicator cancellation, had worn down its prongs. this had caused the horn wires to stop rotating and they had been snapped by the motion of the steering wheel.
the ideal solution would be to replace the collet and horn wires but I managed to repair both, not sure how long they will last.

Hi all I myself have had this problem. If your indicators don't cancel them selves and your air bag light comes on the problem is in the steering rack behind the steering wheel you will see a black disc and a plug going into the steering wheel. This unit comes in four parts you need the fouth part. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with the horn not working, horn works ok from a bat, no power to the horn. PAUL OR ANYONE HAVE YOU FOUND THE HORN RELAY OR FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. mot coming up soon help please

The horn has a relay - under the bonnet in a plastic casing I think....long time since I've seen one.
