immobiliser and alarm on a p reg vauxhall frontera wont disable HELP NEEDED?

Is the horn or siren sounding? Or both?

If both it's your alarm at fault.

If it's just the siren. Then thats the fault. The siren has a battery backup, after a few years the battery is dead. This is a sealed unit and is around £60-80+vat from the dealer. Depending on the car depends on where it is.

Make sure you disconnect/reconnect you battery with you keys at stop 2 (dash lit up, engine not started). This stops the alarm going off.

I will add in extreme cases, when the battery in these sirens go, they have been known to cause a small fire! Yes I did say that. If you don't want the siren, or you prefer not to part with cash, you can remove it. However this may/will affect the insurance rating of your car.

i wish i could help im having exactly the same problem myself,you need to get the standard alarm and immobiliser disconnected and an after market 1 out in thats what im doin im just struggling to take the standard 1 out,but what does work when you open the door and the alarm goes off open the fuse door on the end off the dash board inside the door and take out the 3rd fuse along from the right on the second and 3rd row down leave them out for a few seconds and it seems to work,well it does on mine if thats any help

firstly try a new battery in the alarm fob, if that fails then you need to put the immo code (it is a 4 digit code.. you will find it on the car pass if you dont have that vauxhall will want to charge you approx £40 to supply you with it) into the door to disable your immobiliser so you can still use the car ...and failing that you will need to call out someone to reprogram your fob to the alrm and immobiliser
