anybody know why my zafira looses power?

when the engine managment finds a fault it puts the light on and places the vehicle into "limp home mode" reducing power in order to prevent damage to the vehicle..... The actual fault could be one of a number of things. a friend with the same engined signum needed an egr valve. hope this helps.
