use a very thin putty knife on the trim ring that is positioned between the main door casing and the glass. Being very careful you can pull out on the ring and the small plastic hook clips that are positioned on the inside (glass side) of the rectangular ring will pull free and release the ring. You only need to pull up the handle side of the ring. The single screw that is visible at the top corner of the door attaches the upper handle to the door. Releasing the lower outside corner of the ring will expose another screw that secures the lower part of the door handle.
