Will my warranty cover the crack in my lcd screen?

I Also work in the tv industry(as an installer)and i've had plenty of damaged CRT,Plasma and LCD tv's I've just taken out of the box. I've had the outside of the packaging in perfect condition and the TV inside either has a cracked screen a hole in the casing or a hole punched thru the screen. Sometimes i think they drop them in the factory before packing them.
and this is all makes Samsung, Pioneer, JVC etc.
I always check them over thoroughly before removing from the box.

I'm a Tv engineer and have been in the trade for over 20 years. The only way I know that an LCD TV screen would crack is if it is hit and damaged by an external force. The LCD TFT could not crack itself unless it was under stress i.e. you wall mounted it and caused the display to be twisted slightly putting it under duress with the fixings that you have used. I also had one customer who put the wrong stand screws into the base. The screws were far too long and tightened into the screen. In my experience these things usually have a reason like - if you have kids that were playing near the TV and they accidentally damaged it without your knowledge. I had one customer who believed his dog damaged the sceen when he was out. LCD screens are very easy to damage, you only need to press lightly on the screen to see that. The only TV screen that I know to have cracked caused by the TV itself was an Hitachi 42' plasma 42PD6600 set where the screen gets very hot and expands slightly with long running time. Plasma screens are made of glass which is held tight with metal bands and this expansion caused the glass to crack. LCD panels are made from plastic and run much cooler anyway and this can't happen to them.
Sorry your warranty wont cover the damage unless you took out extended warranty at the time of purchase where some policies cover accidental damage. Otherwise claim on your home insurance policy and blame the kids.

If the tv is brand new and you have just taken it out the box,take it back and get a new 1 cause it has been damaged in transit.
