Mend Vauxhall Vectra Engine Cuts Out

What is wrong with my vectra 1.8. 1997?

Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesnt, the orange engine symbol comes on the dashboard! When im driving, it cuts out a lot when i stop and takes a while to start again!
Can anyone tell me whats wrong please?
