Mend Drive Table Saw

How do I replace the drive belt on my PPro table saw CLM1500TSS?

I've got a PPro 1500w 254mm portable table saw (model CLM1500TSS) and the drive belt has burnt out.

I have managed to get a new belt but can anyone explain how to replace the drive belt onto the drive wheel and the motor?

I have tried removing the drive wheel itself but there is not enough slack to pull the drive wheel back on again with the belt in place and I have already managed to lose a drive wheel key in the process!

Is there a trick to this or is there some sort of adjuster as I cant see one!

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the helpful answers. Just bought and fitted a belt off Solent Tools.
While preparing the belt I was distracted by my daughter and it survived boiling dry!
Because it's a fiddly job I removed the top of the saw from the body, it's only 4 bolts in each corner. The internal flex is just long enough to put the body to the side.
It's worth checking the bolts holding the machine together while you have it apart. I found several loose.

Hi

I can't help you unfortunately but the idea of the heating process looks good.

I've got one of the same bench saws with a burnt out belt (must be a common problem). I cant find a replacement anywhere. Can you direct me to someone who sells them and give me a part number please?

Cheers

Vince

I managed to get help from a fitter who told me the answer is to warm the belt in hot/boiling water for 30 mins to soften the rubber. The belt will become more maliable and you will be able to slip the belt over the motor and drive wheels with a flat bladed srewdriver.

The belt will tighten itself as it cools down and dries out.

Be extremely careful when lifting the belt from hot water. Avoid scalding by using tongs or other suitable implements.
