Mend Vauxhall Vectra Fault Steering Wheel

Vauxhall vectra computer control fault?

I have a new shape vectra with the onboard computer with the control by the steering wheel (on the wiper switch)... but the buttons for the computer do not work so I can't switch through modes or get warnings off the screen when they appear. Any ideas what the problem could be?
