My 2006 Renault Grand Scenic wont start ????

I have bought a 2006 Grand Scenic auto with very light n/s/f damage. The drivers air bag had not deployed but someone has stolen it from the car before i had it delivered. The ignition lights up & once card is inserted the display reads 'press brake + start', when i do this the car beeps loudly then display reads ' parking brake fault' . I have tried the parking brake ( electonic handbrake i think) & it comes on & off but engine just wont turn over but you can hear the fuel pump make a noise then the display reads 'remove card'.
Is there some clever know it all out there that could possibly get me out of the sh*t???????

55 Plate with 17k miles from new. I get the same "parking brake fault" message but will start. Just out of warranty and the dealer told the missus yesterday that water has been getting in, corroded the relevant sensors and they want £500 + VAT to fix it. Looking forward to that telephone conversation this morning!

I have the same problem after I had a tyre puncture. Not sure is related. Once the "check parking brake" is on, the car won't start. I had to jump start it.

The service centre reseted the system and was working for a couple of days and now is back.

you need a renault can clip , try ebay £1000 . these salvage cars are underpriced for good reason !
