my treadmill slows down after 2 min?

I have the proform 765EKG treadmill. No matter what program you set it (pre-programed or manual) the machine slows down after 2 minutes.

It hasn't been used for a year or so due to my health problems

make sure it's not in a program.
run the treadmill in the manual mode with no one running on it.
It should run with no speed changes.
If it does. Theres a good chance you have a worn belt and deck or one that needs lube.
