Mend Alfa Romeo 156 Knocking Noise Front

What is the knocking noise coming from near side of my Alfa Romeo 156?

There is a knocking noise coming from the front nearside of my Alfa Romeo when ever I go over any small bump in the road. I was told by garage that if i push downhard on the front left suspension a few times and it makes a noise it could be the shock absorbers, But when I do this there is no noise.

Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo 156 Vehicles, Cars Knocking Noise Front

Could be the front anti-roll bar. Check by disconnecting it on one side and driving it gently over the same bumpy road.

Probably the upper wishbone, they're known for it, or anti-roll bar drop links.
