The reason the clocks 'fail' is that the internal backup battery has died. If you have the original clocks (and you should) you could ask an electrician to replace the battery (the battery costs about £1.50, and is not rechargable) then just swap the whole unit for the current failed one. Essentially the 'clocks' are switches powered by a 'motor' but if the electricity fails the clock keeps running. If you have had many blackouts or 3 years (the battery life) then 0000 is the result. Failing that contact Ferroli for a domestic spare mechanical clock.
