Mend Citroen XSARA VTR Overheating Radiator Thermostat

how to sort overheating prob?

i have just changed the radiator of my xsara vtr because was damaged ,and everything is seal and no leaks but the temperature on the meter on the dash is super hot,and the radiator is cold , his the thermostat busted? and if is a easy job to do? cheers
