ravenheat boiler ls 80 t?

my ignition button will not stay on, when you press it the boiler fires up but when you take your finger off button does not stay in so it switches off, no heat and no hot water

If when you say the boiler "fires up", you actually mean that the pilot lights, only for it to extinguish when you release the button, then the problem is almost certainly a faulty thermocouple. Ths is the long metal probe, the end of which the pilot flame normally plays on to.

Sounds like something like faulty flame rectification or something is turning off the boiler....
