Mend Volkswagen Passat Side Door Key

drivers side door stuck on my 96 vw passat?

My drivers side door is stuck on my 96 vw passat. I can still use the key to unlock all of the other doors and roll down all of my windows. Since the door won't open I can't get the panel off of the door all the way. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
