Mend Toyota Code 2000 Car

How do I re-enter radio code in my Toyota Echo?

I have a 2000 Toyota Echo (Yaris in some countries). Last time I went into a car wash, someone managed to disconnect my audio code.

I'm left with a screen showing "SEC". I know the 3 digit code, but there are no clues in the manual about how to enter it.

Why is this information so secret? You know what, if someone broke into or stole my car, the last thing on my mind would be whether or not they could listen to my radio.

Can anyone help?

Try this:

1. Hold down the tune up button.
2. press number 1 whilst tune up button held down.
3. a sequence of 3 bars should be displayed.
4. press number 1 button until it reaches the correct number for the first digit.
5. press number 2 button until it reaches the correct number for the second digit.
6. press number 3 button until it reaches the correct number for the 3rd digit.
7. If radio has scan button hold it down. If radio doesn't you can hold down am/fm button or power button. radio should come back up with word sec again then shut off. You may need to manually turn it off (I can't quite remember). Turn radio off then back on.

Most radios (4 digit)work by pressing button 1 until the first code number comes up on screen(if it's a 6 press six times)press button 2 for the second number and so on then press button 4 and hopefully your radio will come on.The manual wont tell you,it is a separate booklet for the radio as it has nothing to do with the car really.
