I have got a 2001 citroen Xsara LX, the power steering works but it seems to be harder than it was and it is not very responsive. It's better when the car is in motion but when it is not moving and you try to steer it is very hard in the beginning until it kind of kicks in. Any ideas? thank you.
similar on my 2005 Picasso. tried lubricating the universal joint at the bottom of the steering wheel with a bit of "3in1". over next few days, steering freed up. Good as new now!

Same thing for me. Eventually stopped turning altogether and all my steering fluid had leaked. Cause? Massive corrosion on pressure switch. AA guy removed it for me from the engine and its corroded through on all sides of the hexagonal bolt. I could replace it myself but try finding a switch that looks the same..... Awkward parts to get a hold of.
