Mend HTC Touch Leave Battery Time

htc touch phone?

sometimes the phone shuts down and the only way to restart it is to leave the battery out for some time then resart the device later, more recently the phone will try to start up , goes thro the start sequwnce and just keeps switching between the 2 sequential start pages not allowing entry to the menus
help!

My HTC Touch will go through the start sequence also, and then freeze on my PIN code. The touch screen is completely unresponsive at that point.
