drier stops getting hot, so i took back off, and saw heat unit wasn't working. one of connections to it was also burnt. i can easily fit a new heater unit but does the burning mean that thermostat is broken too? if so how can i tell which one, in our out? Missus says the reset button was often tripping before drier died. thanks for any help.
so should i just try a new heat unit first? (i did clean the condenser but will check), and if this doesnt work try the two stats at the back? Is there a way of testing the stats? And are they easy to replace?

forgot to say make sure condensor at bottom is clean and you can see through it easily as this cause reset to go out.(lack of air flow)

the element could of just blown.there are 3 stats in this unit 2 on back should be normally closed and 1 on front duct.to get to this you have to remove drum.again it is normally closed.
