how to fix leaking g/box gasket?

If the leak is the 5th gear cover very easy to fix undo all the bolts,change the gasket and top up the oil.
How ever if its the second set of bolts intowards the gearbox more difficult you have to take off the gear selector from the top of the gearbox then remove the reverse light switch then take out the whole gearset if you get this wrong on putting it back you,ll destroy the gearbox and cause oil to leak onto the clutch as well.
