How can I replace pollen filter in my nissan micra 2001?

Nissan Nissan Micra Vehicles, Cars Pollen Filter Help

My mothers 2002 nissan micra blowers are only working on the passenger side. The dials all work & so does the heat except for it not blowing out on drivers side - Does anyone know why & how much it would cost to resolve it? TIA

This question about the pollen filter was very useful.
I today have had to change the pollen filter under the glove compartment and I didn't even know there was a filter there. My Micra doesn't have Air con and it does have a filter fitted. So, if like me you notice that your heater/air vents inside the car are not blowing and not making much noise, then there's a big chance that the pollen filter is clogged and needs replacing and yes you do have to cut the panel behind the glove compartment to be able to remove the filter, just as Mark Smith stated in his post to this question.
I found the cost of the filter about £13.00, what a difference to the blowing power from my vents though.

TAKE OUT THE GLOVEBOX BY PUSHING OUT THE TWO PINS THAT ACT AS THE HINGES AND THEN EASE IT OUT FROM THE DASH,YOU WILL SEE STRAIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU A GREY PLASTIC PANEL WITH SERATED HOLES RUNNING DOWNWARDS ABOUT 2TO 3 INCH APART.THIS NEEDS TO BE CUT OUT WITH A SHARP KNIFE (BECAREFULL) ONCE THIS IS REMOVED YOU ARE NEARLY THERE YOU WILL SEE THE HEATER BOX STRAIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU REMOVE THE SMALL SCREW AT THE BOTTOM AND SLIDE OUT THE INCH WIDE PANEL (DOWNWARDS) THIS WILL UNVAIL THE POLLEN FILTER THIS THEN SLIDES OUT TOWARDS YOU. EASY EH! THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE TO HAVE AIR CON TO BE FITTED WITH A POLLEN FILTER AS I HAVE GOT ONE AND DONE IT MYSELF AND ALSO WORKED IN A NISSAN DEALER FOR 5 YEARS.

Only if your Micra has air con - the rectangular filter is behind the glove box, passenger side.
