Error code on Wirlpool APDW/2?

Hi
I have a whirlpool APDW/2 integrated dishwasher and the LED by the start button is flashing 4 times. When I try and start the unit it beeps and nothing happens. There seems to be some water in the bottom which may idicate the drain pump isn't working? would this stop if it had a blockage?
Has any one got any tips that may help please.
